I helped Kshama with her Indian Dance minicourse this afternoon. I now see why she's upset in the afternoon. The girls give her a hard time, and they kept stepping on the choli skirts and throwing them about. I had to help a few of them tie the skirts, and each time I needed help, I found myself calling, "Jignaa!! Can you come here?", even though Kshama and Jigna have noootthing in common except that they're Gujarati. Kshama and May(she came from Taiwan) have come to the conclusion that the directors accepted her class into Celebration solely because the dancing was "exotic", even though it's only raas. Kshama tried to teach them some cultural background, but they threatened to drop out, so May stepped in to help discipline. We were rather rough with them today, not letting them go to snack until they did it perfectly once all the way through. They never made it to snack. I have no sympathy- I mean, this was completely in their hands- the steps were simple enough.
Gaelle begged me to do sound and lighting for Celebration, which was, of course, completely unnecessary. I LOOOVVEE being a techie! I get a headset! :) Gaelle is a competent stage manager. Omg, is this actually going to be a GOOD PRODUCTION?! Soooo excited about this!
Today, Olvin wrote a cheer for the "foreign language word of the day" skit during ASM, that's something like:
"Hola, bonjour, aloha, como estas, ni hao, (german), (swahili), (japanese), (taiwanese), (Arabic)"
I felt very, very left out.
